Dental implants
What does it involve?
Dental implants are the most advanced and durable solution for replacing missing teeth. They consist of a titanium screw that integrates with the bone (osseointegration) on which a dental crown is placed. With proper care, implants can last a lifetime.
Step by step
Evaluation
CT scan to evaluate available bone.
Placement
Surgery to place the titanium screw.
Osseointegration
2-4 month waiting period for bone integration.
Crown
Placement of the definitive dental crown.
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about dental implants
Am I a candidate for implants if I lost bone?+
In many cases yes. There are bone regeneration techniques (grafts) that allow us to create the necessary base for the implant. A 3D CT scan allows us to evaluate it precisely before planning treatment.
Is the implant surgery painful?+
The surgery is performed with local anesthesia and is virtually painless during the procedure. After surgery there may be mild discomfort and swelling for 3-5 days, managed with pain relievers and anti-inflammatories.
How long does a dental implant last?+
With proper maintenance (correct hygiene, periodic cleanings, and annual check-ups), implants can last a lifetime. The 10-year success rate exceeds 95% in non-smoking patients.
Can I have implants if I am diabetic?+
Controlled diabetes is not an absolute contraindication for implants. With well-regulated glucose levels, implants can be performed successfully. We evaluate each case individually to ensure patient safety.
