What does it involve?
Professional dental cleaning removes tartar deposits that regular brushing cannot remove. Using ultrasound and curettes, we remove supragingival and subgingival tartar, polish surfaces and apply fluoride to strengthen enamel. It is the most important preventive treatment to maintain healthy gums.

Tartar removal

Polishing
We polish surfaces to remove stains.
Fluoride
We apply fluoride to strengthen enamel.
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about dental cleaning
Does a professional dental cleaning hurt?+
In most cases it does not hurt. If you have sensitive gums or heavy tartar buildup, you may feel some discomfort, but the procedure is very well tolerated. If necessary, we apply topical anesthesia.
How often should I get a cleaning?+
For most patients we recommend every 6 months. If you have a history of periodontal disease, diabetes, or active smoking, it may be needed every 3-4 months.
Does cleaning damage or wear down the enamel?+
No. Ultrasound instruments and curettes are designed to remove tartar without affecting dental enamel. The final polishing uses a fine-grained paste that also does not damage the surface.
Can I eat after the cleaning?+
Yes, you can eat normally. If fluoride was applied, it is recommended to wait at least 30 minutes before eating or drinking to maximize the benefit of the treatment.
